I once heard Will Graham talk about a conversation he had with his famous grandfather, Billy Graham.
It was an interesting conversation, but maybe one to be expected at the end of the journey like Billy Graham.

Billy Graham said that he regretted not reading and studying scripture more. He felt he didn’t know the Bible well enough.
I was a little surprised when I heard this. It did challenge me. Will I have the same regret when I am closer to the end of the journey? I don’t want to, so what can I do about it?
I have to make studying the Bible a regular part of my life. I read the Bible. I read it for sermons. I read it for small groups. I even read it devotionally. What I really need to make a part of my life is to STUDY the Bible.

The other regret that Billy Graham had was that he wished he prayed more. In fact he thought if he prayed more that more would have happened in his ministry.

I don’t think we will ever fully understand the affects of our prayers. All I do know is that scripture tells us that we should pray and even how to pray.
This regret of Billy’s challenged me with the intentionality and volume of my prayer life.
If anything, this conversation between a grandfather and grandson challenged me that we need to be youth workers that study the Bible and pray frequently. I hope it does the same f
